The River Connection is proud to be recognized by the American Canoe Association (ACA) as a Pro Paddlesports School. The ACA is the oldest and largest organization devoted to paddlesports and paddlesport instruction in the United States.

As owners and certified ACA instructors, our philosophy is that your experience depends on our experience. As a company, we connect a broad range of experience and specialized training with our instructional team: ACA certified kayak instructors; naturalists; geologists and artists. Each member of our team provides a unique view to the beauty and function of the Hudson River Valley.

Sea kayaking is a dynamic sport and the ACA is continuously refining their course offerings to meet the demands of the public and the sport. As a ACA Pro Paddlesports School, we offer a broad range of kayaking skills development courses: from the basics to rolling. If you are interested in sightseeing and going places, consider one of our guided Kayak Tours or create a special adventure of your own design.

In addition to stardardized sea kayaking skill building courses, the ACA developed a system of workshops to provide experienced paddlers with the tools needed to share their skills with others. ACA Certification is a two step process that includes the Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) and the Instructor Certification Exam (ICE).

If you are feeling more terrestrial, give Nordic Walking a try. Nordic Walking is a fabulous way to tour the many regional parks and historic estates in the Hudson River Valley while enjoying the benefits of a full body, low-impact workout.
